At Three Gables Farm we are the first to import this ancient and now rare multi-purpose breed from Austria into Canada and onto North American soil. Early records indicate that the hardy and alert Cheviot was roaming in the border country between Scotland and England as early as the 14th century. Today, the Cheviot is a dual-use breed used for meat and for wool. Read more about our sheep HERE.

Three Gables Farm on Salt Spring Island on the north pacific coast of the beautiful province of British Columbia in Canada is the far away home for beautiful cows from the mountains of Switzerland and Austria’s Tirol.

The Saltspring Pheasant Fowl is our own creation inspired by the old English Pheasant Fowl of bygone times. We wanted a hardy, self sufficient chicken capable of producing enough eggs for a family and still be a nice bird for the dinner table. See more about these chickens on THIS page.
